Crystals have been used for healing since ancient times, and many religious texts reference crystals and their healing properties.
We can trace the history of crystals and metals back to the Stone Age. People of that time melted and cast gold to make jewelry. The ancient Egyptians did so with Tutenkamon’s sarcophagus and in making casts of scarab beetles. The ancient Indians (of India) did so with their jewelry, the ancient Romans and Greeks with coins, face masks, and ornaments, and the ancient Chinese with seals and carved ink stamps.
About 4000 years ago, a hieroglyphic papyrus described a medical treatment using a gemstone. In 1500 B.C., a complete therapeutic manuscript, known as the “Papyrus Ebers,” was discovered in Egypt. It offers prescriptions containing gemstones and minerals. The original Papyrus Ebers manuscript contains a lot of information. It makes for fascinating reading!
Some of the earliest gems used were Lapis Lazuli, Carnelian, Amber, Turquoise, Jade, Tiger’s Eye, Serpentine, and Chrysoberyls.
How to wear your stones:
The left side of your body is the receptive side, which is about tuning in to your feminine intuition. So, when you wear crystals, the left side is more sensitive and receives energy from outside yourself.
Wearing stones on your right side, the masculine side of the body helps with productivity and motivates you to action.
Be aware of which finger you wear your crystals on because your fingers are the most expressive part of your body:
Ideally, crystals should not be worn on the thumb, as the thumb represents your freedom and should not be blocked.
The pointer fingers direct - communication, goals, dreams & desires.
The Middle finger is - an intuitive, inspirational finger, so only add a crystal if you want to stimulate your intuition or inspiration.
The Ring finger represents creative stimulation and, on the left side, love. It is also the finger that sends vibes straight to your heart.
Little finger - finger of change or opportunity.
How to absorb your crystal's healing properties
There are other ways to absorb their healing properties; the simplest way is to wear the crystal. Each crystal offers unique benefits and can be strategically placed on the body or within your environment to maximize its healing properties and align with its esoteric meanings. Whether worn as jewellery, carried as pocket stones, or used in meditation, these crystals can be tools for physical, emotional, and spiritual enhancement.
You can put the following crystals into a jug of water to drink the crystal-infused water. I add these crystals to a jug of filtered water. Not all crystals can be used as an elixir in water, as many are toxic if ingested.

How to cleanse your crystals:
You have probably read many different ways to cleanse your crystals, the most important point being that they DO need to be cleansed. Crystals hold energy, especially when they hold or draw negative energy away from you or your home, so washing them is important. If they are too big to carry and wash or fragile, you can use smoke from incense or a smudge stick to cleanse them.
